It all began in 1979 when Eddie Adkins Jr. decided to leave Baker Truck Equipment where he had worked as a fabricator for 14 years. With a love of work, passion for engineering, and a few dollars he had saved from building trailers on nights and weekends, so began Adkins Truck Equipment. After taking many different jobs to get started, Eddie slowly began to build a customer base with work truck bodies as the core product. Motivated with the desire and ability to design and build a product that would help others do their job has earned Eddie the reputation that he still carries today. Some of those first customers are still coming back, almost 40 years later. Eddie’s son Scott started full-time in 1989, working his way up through the shop and into the front office. Scott now handles day-today operations, while Eddie continues a key roll in continual improvements to our design and manufacturing processes. And in 2016 Scott’s son Timothy began his journey with the family business. Along with three generations of the Adkins family, we have a dedicated long-term management team with over 250 years of combined experience, which has allowed us to grow to over 75 employees and a 60,000 sq.ft. facility. Our focus continues to remain on strengthening the relationships with our customers by providing a long-lasting quality product and the best customer service possible. And we look forward to continued growth and improvements, as well as meeting the challenges in an ever-changing market in the years to come. We extend a sincere “thank you” to all who have played a role in our success!
